MARY SHOWS US WHAT TRUE CHRISTIAN FREEDOM IS.

In this life, one can choose to do good, to conquer sin, and to bring the world to God, or the opposite. Nevertheless, the latter is not freedom, but rather slavery, for sin is always a form of slavery. For us Christians, freedom, and true freedom at that is not just to free ourselves from what separates us from God, but moreover, the capacity to act as children of God for love.

As Pope Francis said when contemplating our Mother: “From Mary, full of grace, we learn that Christian freedom is more than mere liberation from sin. It is freedom that enables us to see earthly realities in a new, spiritual light. It is the freedom to love God and our brothers and sisters with a pure heart, and to live a life of joyful hope for the coming of Christ’s Kingdom (August 15, 2014).”
