Life presents its inevitable difficulties which may lead one to sadness and worse, to despair. Nevertheless, let us struggle against this vicious cycle and bear in mind that there is much more to our life than the adversities we face everyday such that in the midst of suffering or defeats, we do not lose our joy and fall into pessimism.

It is up to us to find the motives for our hope and joy but for a Christian, the definitive reason for this is that God loves us, and life, as Pope Francis reminded us,
is a great gift for it is a time to love and be loved.”
