GOD’S TENDERNESS, POPE FRANCIS, AND SPIRITUAL CHILDHOOD.

GOD’S TENDERNESS EMBODIED IN POPE FRANCIS, CHRIST’S VICAR ON EARTH.

As I contemplate these pictures, I am reminded of Our Lord’s words “Let the little children come to me, and do not stop them; for it is to such as these that the kingdom of heaven belongs (Mt 19:14),” and couldn’t help but thank God for giving us Pope Francis who embodies Jesus’ tenderness towards the little ones.

Then I remembered Our Lord’s words: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven (Mt 18:3).”

Let us convince ourselves of the necessity of acknowledging ourselves as little before God’s eyes, imitating the humility, sincerity, simplicity, trust and abandonment of children in our dealings before God. For only then we would be pleasing to God’s eyes and receive His Tenderness.

Spiritual childhood is a formidable and fast way to arrive at God’s most tender heart. If seeing little ones easily melt and soften the hearts of even the toughest and most hardened men, what more with God who is Love, Mercy and Tenderness Himself when we humble ourselves and become little before Him?

Lord, bless these children and all the children in the world. Help us become little before you, for such is what we really are.
