LA BORRIQUITA (The Small donkey)
HERMANDAD DE LA SAGRADA ENTRADA EN JERUSALEN (Seville). Float vid + text.
This processional float of depicting Jesus’ Entry into Jerusalem is perhaps the favorite among the children and their parents here in Seville. It is also known as the “Borriquita” or the small donkey and makes its penitential procession with 950 Nazarenes, a lot of whom are little kids (accompanied by their dads as Nazarenes and their moms along the processional route).
The confraternity’s complete name is Primitiva Archicofradía Pontificia y Real Hermandad de Nazarenos de la Sagrada Entrada en Jerusalén, Santísimo Cristo del Amor, Nuestra Señora del Socorro y Santiago Apostol, and was founded at the end of the 16th century.
In the vid, you could see people preparing the float for tomorrow’s procession. Happy viewing and a Blessed Palm Sunday to all!
