PRAY FOR THE CHURCH DAILY.

Dear brethren in Christ, aside from praying for the Pope, do we pray for the Church daily? Our Lord Himself founded His Church which, in turn is composed of men and women who are all sinners and weak. This is the reason why we need to pray for the Church, in particular for her visible elements (that is, the members comprising it, from the Pope to the most recently baptized Catholic) on earth and purgatory and ask the triumphant Church in heaven (all the saints and the angels) to intercede for us so that God may protect His Church from all harm, and from those who persecute and hate it from within and without, convinced -with Jesus’ words-, that :

“And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not prevail against it.  I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. (Mt 16:18-19).”

Let us then pray daily for the ONLY Church founded by Our Lord Jesus Christ:

Guard your Church,
we pray, in your unceasing mercy, O Lord,
and since without you mortal humanity is sure to fall,
may we be kept by your constant help
from all harm and directed to all
that brings salvation. Through Our Lord Jesus Christ.
