Dear friends, another sad breaking news. More than 70 CHRISTIANS DIED AND 300 WOUNDED, MOSTLY CHILDREN AND WOMEN in Lahore, Pakistan. They were Christians celebrating Easter Sunday at Gulshan-e-Iqbal Park, which is popular with families, when the bomber blew himself up a few metres from a children’s play area. A radical group later claimed responsibility for the attack in the eastern city of Lahore and said that it was aimed at Christians.
Our Lord Jesus Christ told us in the sermon of the Mount: ““Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven (Mt 5:10).”
At the same time, He encouraged us to “LOVE YOUR ENEMIES AND PRAY FOR THOSE WHO PERSECUTE YOU (Mt 5:44) and this is what we are going to do, with an attitude of Christian forgiveness, which Our Lord demonstrated on the Cross: “Father, forgive them for they do not know what they are doing! (Lk 23:34)”
We should intensify our prayers for our Christian brethren suffering throughout the world and the conversion of those who persecute the followers of Christ.
At the same time, we call on all government authorities to safeguard the lives of all their constituents and their right to religious freedom.
Lord Jesus, you have triumphed over death, darkness, evil and sin, we ask you for the conversion of those who persecute your followers and for the peace among all children of God here on earth.
Mary, Mother of Peace, pray for us! New Martyrs of Pakistan, pray for the Pakistan Christians and for your persecutors! MAY YOU ALL REST IN PEACE!
