DEVOTION TO THE IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY.
The Promise of Our Lady to Sor Lucia.
Dear brethren in Christ: Tomorrow is the 1st Saturday of the month dedicated to the Immaculate Heart of Mary and to those of you who would like to dedicate the 1st Saturday for 5 consecutive months to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, this is just a friendly reminder 😀
WHAT DOES THE DEVOTION TO THE IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY CONSIST OF?
Our Lady made her promise to Sor Lucia on July 13th, 1917, that there would be a future manifestation concerning the PRACTICE OF THE FIVE FIRST SATURDAYS, was fulfilled on December 10th, 1925. Lucia was then a Postulant Sister in the Dorothean Convent at Tuy, Spain. On this occasion Our Lady appeared together with the Child Jesus, Who spoke first to Lucia:
“HAVE COMPASSION ON THE HEART OF YOUR MOST HOLY MOTHER, COVERED WITH THORNS WHICH UNGRATEFUL MEN PLACE THEREIN AT EVERY MOMENT, WHILE THERE IS NO ONE WHO DOES AN ACT OF REPARATION TO WITHDRAW THEM FOR HER.”
Our Lady then addressed Lucia as follows:
“Behold, my daughter, my Heart encircled with thorns, with which ungrateful men pierce It at every moment by their blasphemies and ingratitude. Give me consolation, you, at least; and make known on my behalf that I PROMISE TO ASSIST AT THE HOUR OF DEATH, WITH THE GRACES NECESSARY FOR SALVATION, all who on the first Saturday of FIVE CONSECUTIVE MONTHS CONFESS THEIR SINS, RECEIVE HOLY COMMUNION, RECITE FIVE DECADES OF THE ROSARY, and KEEP ME COMPANY FOR FIFTEEN MINUTES MEDITATING on the MYSTERIES OF THE ROSARY, with the purpose of MAKING REPARATION TO MY IMMACULATE HEART.”
Hence, in order to carry out this devotion and obtain the promise of Our Lady to “assist at the hour of death with the graces necessary for salvation”, this devotion must be properly understood and duly performed with the requirements stipulated by Our Lady and which are as follows:
(1) Confession,
(2) Communion,
(3) Recitation of the five Decades of the Rosary
(4) Meditation on one or more of the Rosary Mysteries for fifteen minutes,
(5) To do all of these things in the spirit of Reparation to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, and
(6) to observe these practices on the First Saturday of five consecutive months.
Dear friends, as good children of God the Father, who is the one ultimately offended by the sins of humanity, including ours, you might want to practice this optional devotion to our sorrowful Mother, consoling Her and Her Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, dedicating 5 Saturdays to her Immaculate Heart with the purpose of repairing for the sins of mankind. Let us thank God for giving us our Heavenly Mother who is always watching over us and whose only desire is that we, her children, arrive at our final goal: the authentic, never-ending happiness in heaven with the Most Blessed Trinity. Mother Mary, we love you and thanks a lot! Please pray for us your children now and at the hour of our death, Amen.
